Natalie & Andrew’s Mendocino coast farm wedding was a dreamy amalgamation of nature, good food, and color. Starting with her epic full length silver sequin dress! Which was really an accent piece for all the stunning jewelry and silver floral sculptures she made by hand in the preceding months. (Natalie is a SF based artist and jeweler, check out her collection.) She joked about the day being a “wedding turned art show”, but the sculptures were also gifts of appreciation for all the guests. No small feat!
Oz Farm is an off-the-grid, serene retreat center and holistic community that’s tucked into a quiet valley near the Mendocino coast. It’s a special corner of Earth, where sun meets fog and the river meets ocean. It was late spring so the poppies, wildflowers, and gardens were abundant and in full bloom. I loved that each part of the day took place in a distinct environment, from the ceremony in a redwood forest, to cocktail hour near the orchard, and dinner in a field next to the barn. There were more tear streaked faces and tissues in hand during the ceremony than I’ve ever witnessed. The heart and creative energy of this day made it a joy to document.
Tip: there are lots of ways to experience Oz Farm besides hosting a wedding. You can rent one of their cozy cabins or yurts (I’m obsessed with the domes!), which then gives you access to so much of the incredible property, including the gardens and river. Or visit their farmstand and buy some produce. If you can’t tell, I’m a big fan of sustainable farms and land preservation, so I’m happy to spread the word about this gem. :)
