vanessa and dan wanted to jump into the cold ocean together on the morning of their wedding, and of course i loved the idea of being invited to document it! especially since cold ocean dips are one of my favorite things about living on the northern california coast. we met by the great highway and walked across the dunes to ocean beach for their short and sweet polar bear plunge. i really can't think of a more energizing way to begin a wedding day.
later i drove to meet them at hacienda de la flores in moraga, which i discovered to be a hidden gem of the east bay. the spanish-style house and surrounding gardens are oh so charming and cozy. there are lots of options for ceremony spots, but i loved that vanessa and dan chose to marry in front of a gorgeous old tree, no decor needed. the entire day felt relaxed, intentional, and fun... i think a pretty good reflection of vanessa and dan themselves. truly a beautiful day from start to end that i'm grateful to have witnessed.
