farm wedding in big sur

What a day. The work of so many hands, for so many days leading up to this celebration was truly extraordinary. It took place on sacred ground, Ben's parents home and the land he grew up on, which was saved from the Big Sur wildfire the previous year. Their collective families grew most of the food that nourished their guests, from the turkeys they raised for the meat to the avocados from their orchards. They had a whole community who came together that morning, setting tables, picking blueberries, foraging flowers, shuttling people up the hill. It was such a beautiful scene to witness and one of the most fun, joyful weddings I've experienced. Their friends all pitched tents (myself included) and camped out after partying late into the night. Breakfast was another body and soul nourishing meal. Stas and Ben, thank you for welcoming me so warmly. I'm grateful for you both!
